Emily S. Davis

Emily's practice, for the last 20 years, has focused on family law, with a commitment to enabling clients to reach out-of-court settlements through negotiation, mediation and Collaborative Law. When a cooperative resolution is not possible, Emily brings her experience and skills as a litigator to the courtroom. Emily's professional experience includes multiple jury trials in the areas of criminal law and personal injury, as well as state court appeals, municipal taxation and zoning.

Emily graduated from Boston College Law School with honors in 1982. She is currently admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in New Hampshire and Vermont, and is a former member of the Massachusetts bar. She was appointed by the Vermont Supreme Court to serve on the Family Division Oversight Committee since its inception in 1990, and also to the Advisory Committee on Rules for Family Proceedings from 2004 to 2012. Emily served on the Vermont Bar Association Board of Managers for eight years, including a year as VBA president, and she has worked as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at Vermont Law School. She has received service awards from the Vermont Supreme Court, the Family Court Oversight Committee, and the Vermont Volunteer Lawyers Project.

Emily has completed over 80 hours of training and conference participation in mediation and Collaborative Law.
